Deployment Administration
The Overview provides most of the information required to administer Deployments. In this section we will focus on creating Deployments.
Create a Deployment
Creating a Deployment is as simple as selecting where you wish to deploy (Target), what you wish to deploy (Template), providing the details for the Template and providing the Deployment a name and specifying if you wish for it to be protected.
Step 1 - Select Target Environment
Step 2 - Select Certified Template
By selecting a Target, the available Templates are automatically filtered to only show options that are available for that Target type. In this case, as the Target type was AWS, only Templates related to AWS are displayed.
Step 3 - Specify Template Parameters
Templates have varying numbers of required inputs. In the example shown below, the RDS template actually has a lot more parameters than are being presented for the user to specify, the rest of the parameters are specified using Tenant Defaults pulled from configuration. Where this feature has been used, it makes some templates very simple to deploy even though they have some complex technical inputs required.
In addition, the instance classes availabe to the Tenant have been specified in configuration so the user can simply select from a list of options.
Step 4 - Name Deployment
All that is left to do now is to name your Deployment, decide if it is necessary to protect, review the details and then deploy.
Step 5 - Name Deployment
All that is left to do now is to name your Deployment, decide if it is necessary to protect, review the details and then deploy.
Wait for your Deployment to complete, when it is deployed the status indicator will turn green.
